The Etobicoke Chapter is organizing the 9th annual engineering design competition: Engineering Idol. Engineering Idol is a high school group competition where students from nearby secondary schools compete to create an innovative design for a thematic engineering challenge. This year’s theme is Engineering Ability: Prosthetic Devices.
Students can utilize a variety of means to create the ultimate product: a functional prosthetic that accounts for the needs and wants of its user and a variety of tests to demonstrate its abilities. Through a collaboration with War Amps, students have already gotten a chance to learn more about different types of prosthetics and interact with individuals with amputations.
The competition takes places on Saturday, March 5th at the Bahen Institute of Technology at the University of Toronto.
