This year the Etobicoke chapter of PEO organized its 8th annual Engineering Idol competition. The event challenges local secondary school students to compete against each other to take home the top prize and bragging rights as the most innovative and critical thinkers in the region.
This year’s event charged 14 teams, from 7 local high schools, to design and build a Mars Lander capsule. The competition used inspiration from the recent NASA curiosity landing. To plan the set up and set the judging criteria.
The event brought together many bright and driven students, but the BioBoys from Father Redmond took first prize with their well thought out design, the team work strategy they brought EIdol, and their original number highlighting their skills as young inspiring engineers.
